Pre-tourney Time Killing Stuff

While taking my morning dump, I happened across this little gem on page 21 of Playboy's April issue:

Although military veterans represent only 11% of civilian adults in the US, they make up more than 26% of the homeless population. 195,854 vets are out on the streets every night.

I remember not too long ago writing about all the broohaha from Bill O'Lielly aimed at John Edwards over the issue of homeless vets. At the time, Billy the Bully said that if they were out there, there weren't many, while Edwards said there were roughly 200,000. I wonder now that there's a figure out there that's less than Edwards' , if Billy will pull a "See I tolja so."

I don't know where/how Playboy came up with this number, but hey, if you can't accept as true, a statement put forth by a purveyor of fake titties, who will you believe?

After reading this I looked for Curling. Yes I watch curling. Don't know if Firestarter will be proud of me or not, but the skip for the Canadian team is a chick named Jennifer Jones. She's a BABE! Not sure if she's a fake blonde or not, cuzz the Canadian channel isn't in HD and I haven't seen a closeup that's good enough for me to see if her eyes are brown or not. That's not 100% way to know, but it's close.

When a hot chick says, "Eh," that makes her doubly hot.

And for you doubters out there, there really is a show called Canadian Idol. I actually saw a slice of it. Not sure if it's up Kimmy K's aisle or not.

The basic premise of liberalism

I put this out there as a, something or other, to a previous post, "The basic problem of conservatism." response... answer to... don't fuck with me like you're dumb asses, you know what I mean.

...if by a liberal they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people - their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, their civil liberties..if that is what they mean by a "liberal" then I am proud to be a liberal.

Dale was asking me to explain my idea of the "basic problem of conservatism." and today I thought about this. It's a JFK quote. Fucker was a speacher... damn. Anyway... compare/contrast... cognitive dissonance. someone who cares about the welfare of the people - Dubya? ???

In Answer to Fairlane

who said:

Louisville is the only team in the east that can hang with North Carolina because they're capable of playing any style (Fast, slow, whatever), and they're deep.

I don't know much about Louisville, except that I saw a bumper sticker not long ago that said,"Help keep Louisville weird." And that Rick Petino is a cross between Pat Riley and Lou Saban. Other than that, I've got NC getting beat by Georgetown again. Not so sure that was a smart pick. Not so sure about even putting Georgetown over Kansas. And don't be too shocked if Butler knocks off Tennishoe. Oh well...

I was right about the Spartans. And wrong about Wazzou. Who knows how they might be able to slow down the heels..? Stanford barely survived. Woulda busted the fuck outta my bracket had they lost. They still may not go as far as I picked them, though. Memphis is so fucking deep and
FAST!!! Any wayyyy...

'cept for Duke, everyone I picked got through. Not bad, and as far as Duke goes, how mad can you get when West Virginia's Po' Hick's beat the Rich Pricks, eh?

The Basic Problem of Conservatism.

I used the title phrase here, and Dale asked me about it in comments. Rather than bury the answer, and since I'm too stupid to figure out how to put hyper links in my comments, I decided to make my answer a full fledged post. So here goes...:

I tried to explain the basic problem of conservatism in my first post. It's difficult to explain, because as I see it, true belief in conservatism requires the total suspension of reason. It is only through its failure that Conservatism proves itself correct. Even before Reagan, conservatives were for free, unregulated markets, which led to the Robber Barons, monopolies, crazed speculation on the stock and commodities markets, and then the Great Depression. Those same principles are fucking up our economy now. It doesn't really matter how far back you go, to try to find a particular brand of Conservatism. They're all at their roots, the same. Dubyaism is just Conservatism on steroids. OK, with some hubris, insanity and despotism thrown in.

A conservative once told me that the government's job was to "protect the borders." How? Militarily? OK. But what about from illegal immigrants? From the introduction of infectious disease? From lead painted toys? From tainted food stuffs? From cheap, shoddy goods made by slave labor? Those are just a few things I think Government should consider when protesting our borders, and we're not even getting to, "...promote the general welfare and ensure the prospects of liberty for ourselves and our posterity." (from the Preamble to the Constitution)

Small government, like the idea of trickle down economics, is a Conservative mantra. You were just a tot when Reagan ran for Pres, but he ran on an anti-government platform. I've quoted him here, and I know I've said it to you, but the one I really love: "I've often thought that the Nine most feared words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'" Then he would go on to explain that government cannot solve problems; that government IS the problem. So Ron... as leader of the nation, what will you do? Nothing; Government CAN'T do anything. Reagan set the presidential vacation record that Dubya broke.

Conservatism seems to hold this as an inherent problem, that can only be solved through deregulation and privatization, and conservatives will often go to great lengths to prove this. Bush has over and over again appointed cronies and incompetents to head programs and agencies, with sad results. It's not by accident; it's by design. It's so that they'll get people to say things like, "Look at how the State department fucks up passports. Sure as hell don't want those assholes running health care." Things don't have to be that way. They are that way, because want them that way; because it makes them seem right.

So what about Conservative programs that work? I really can't think of any. Certainly not like Social Security, FHA and the rest of FDR's New Deal. What about the EPA? True that was started by Nixon, and Nixon was a Republican, but he wasn't necessarily a conservative. He also tried to institute a comprehensive health care plan, OSHA, Affirmative Action and tried to control inflation through a price and wage control board. Not exactly free market small gov stuff there. Eisenhower was also a Republican, but besides fucking up the White House floors with his golf shoes, I can't say what he did. I remember he was quoted that he ran as a Republican to "save the two-party system."

Reagan... good old Ronnie Raygun. The guy the Refuckyoucans worship, emulate, imitate and see on Mt Rushmore during their wet dreams. Gutted the civil rights act, affirmative action, the EPA... discontinued all the Carter initiatives into alternative fuels and conservation... tried to start drilling in ANWR... dumped shitloads of money into stuff like Star Wars... set the deficit records that Dubya broke... deregulated the airlines, so they could become the models of efficiency they are today... busted unions... So he appointed the first woman to the Supreme Court and she turned out to be a centrist/swing vote, but he also appointed Rehnquist, Scalia, and Kennedy when he couldn't get Bork -- who was truly bugfuck crazy -- appointed. "Amnesty" for illegal immigrants? A Liberal idea? NOPE.

Basically, if a conservative Refuckyoucan administration ever instituted a program that worked, they would prove Reagan wrong. They have NO incentive to succeed. They purposely break government programs and then replace them with shit from deregulated private industries. They make the army more efficient by taking away duties like cooking meals and trucking fuel, resulting in scamming and over charging by KBR and others. Not to mention soldiers getting sick from tainted water. They offer "improved service" from public utilities supposedly through competition by deregulating and privatizing, resulting in power grid failures, rolling blackouts, massive rate increases, and ENRON. Could you fucking imagine privatized Social Security, backed by securities packages backed by sub-prime mortgages?

These are a few of their favorite things... when the dog bites... when the bee stings... when they're feeling sad. They simply deregulate some other thing, and then they don't feeeeeel soooo baaaaaaad.

Fucked up government is good for Conservatives.

Bracket Update

As we go into the second round, I stand at 23-9. I went 13-3 on Thursday, which was great, except for George Mason. Anyone who's followed the tourney over the years knows that the 5-12 matchup gets weird. I think last year was one of the few where no 12th seed pulled the upset. The Zags have pulled it off a couple of times. So I screwed up and picked Mason, and missed it by not picking Villanova or WKentucky.

A note on some of the matchups...:

Seems that, especially the past two years, the selection committee in a desire to prove their own misguided logic that the so-called mid-major teams don't belong in the tourney because they don't perform well, have again made matchups like Davidson-Gaonzaga, Butler-So Alabama, and Drake-WKentucky. Matchups between two mid majors which do nothing but pad their stats. Last year one of the matchups that really pissed me off was Butler-Old Dominion. Every year fewer and fewer small schools get chosen, because in the eyes of the NCAA, They don't perform well. Fuck 'em...

put the Zags against Baylor, Davidson against Purdue, What the fuck was So Alabama doing as a 10 seed anyway? Put Butler against someone like oh... Arizona, and Drake against Villanova. Mid-major schools against the big league schools. If a St Mary's gets whooped by a Miami, I can live with it. 'nuff widat...

10-6 yesterday wasn't so good, but for some reason it usually works out that I do much better one day than the other, or much better with morning games than late games. Go figure. Still, my brackets aren't severely busted. I didn't lose my championship matchup, or anything like that.

Yet.

Two years ago Mason broke damn near everyone's bracket by making the Final Four, and I think it was the year before, that Marquette went the the FF with Dwayne Wade. I think my entire FF was wiped out in the second round that year. Big worries today are Pitt-MichSt and Wazzou-NotreDame. Most experts are picking Pitt in the first, and I can't get any points no matter who wins the second, since I'd picked Mason to get there and win. Because I "picked the wrong upsets" I'm in the same boat tomorrow with 'Nova-Siena and WKY-San Diego. so...

Who do I like/want in those matchups? Wellll... I gotta root for the Cougs since I can't resist (historic) underdogs. Before the Bennetts arrived, the Cougs would have improved if they'd sucked. They're solid in some ways; they tend to not beat themselves, but I don't think they can match up against ND's big guy, Whatisface. I go with the Irish. 'Nova's tough, obviously. You don't come back from being down 18 other wise. I had a feeling about Siena, backed up by a wee bit of fact, but still, they beat a Vandy team that had lost 7 of their last 10. They believe in themselves though, so I go with them. I'm going to take SD too, for the simple reason that they're coached by Bill Grier who was a 'Zaga assistant for a shitload of years. In his first year he knocks off the Zags in the WCC finals and bumps UConn who was an 11 point favorite.* We could just possibly find out that he was the man behind the man and the one who made that program hum for the past 10 years.

There you have it; My schpiel. Now let the beer flow and the games begin.

Shit...

Gotta go look at houses. Speaking of which, Ms Thang found an apartment. Free, free, We're free at last!!! This'll be the first time the wife and I have lived totally by ourselves since we've been together. Once we get settled that is. And if we don't kill each other in the process.

*reminds me that Kelso is a professional, and I never tried to check to see who he's picking. He seems to know his shit.

Another Thing that'll Make You Go Hmmmm....

Got this from Dale the other day and I have to say I find the coincidence(s)? fascinating. To think for one that all these ... well fuck. You read it and decide for yourselves if it's strange or not:

Many of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, a
little over 60 years ago, witnesses claim that an unidentified flying object (UFO) with five aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and cattle ranch just outside Roswell, New Mexico. This is a well-known incident that many say has long been covered up by the U.S. Air Force and other federal Agencies and organizations.

However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of April 1948, nine months after that historic day, the following
people were born:

Albert A. Gore, Jr.
Hillary Rodham Clinton
John F. Kerry
William J. Clinton
Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer

See what happens when aliens breed with sheep?

CLEARLY someone out there is NOT following the Prime Directive as we know it.

Just as clearly, someone is not happy with our (lack of) democratic leadership, and one of them would be, Dale. I guess it just shows that advanced technology and intelligence can't solve the basic problem of Conservatism. Actually...

Even more clearly...

Sheep genes or no...

Feinstein was a looker in her prime and I'd still do a tumble with either Boxer or Pelosi (come on guys, you would too), so there seems to be definite advantages to incorporating alien DNA into our own. OK...

nothing's foolproof...

Bill and Chris M can have Hillary.

Billy and Barack, Sittin' in a Tree?

R-U-N-N-I-N-G ? together? ???

Seems like it wasn't all that long ago that Bill Richardson had his nose stuck up Hillary's skirt as far as Chris Matthews wished he could get his. Like the debate where John Edwards brought up a part of Hillary's voting record, and Hillary accused him of slinging mud. Richardson jumped right in there, ready to pick her up while she stumbled in her argument since Edwards was correct in every respect and she knew she had no ground on which to stand. Even though I don't remember Richardson ever attacking Barack, I don't remember him defending him ever either. So what does the Richardson endorsement reeeeeeally mean?

He believes that Hillary is toast. (or should be) He believes she should step aside for Barack. For the sake of unity and party? I'm not so sure. I used to believe FIRMLY that he wanted to be Hillary's VP, regardless of his saying not. He's no fool; he's been around the block a few times; he can read the tea leaves. He knows that IF he's going to be a VP, it WON'T be with her.

Of course all this wondering assumes that Chimperor Dubya the Nukuler and his sidekick Darth are going to allow elections at all.

A Twist on Pleading the 5th

So many reminders have popped up today telling me that today is the 5th "anniversary" of the start of the greatest political/military blunder ever made by the US, more commonly known as Bush's Folly or Bush War II. I can't think of words that adequately describe my feeling toward the whole endeavor: Disgust, disdain, anger, frustration... It's such a despicable, grotesque twisting of logic and any good intention or trait one could possibly ascribe to humanity. Any alien race watching us must be shaking their heads (if they have heads) while they struggle to obey their own prime directive.

Rachel Maddow brought up the looting of the Baghdad Museum, and how it was largely made possible by Bremer's firing of all the public/civil servants, police and military. I've mentioned before that in the Neocon Refuckyoucan paradise, there are NO public servants, services, etc. ALL is privatized. What Bremer gave us, and what Iraq is, is just that: The Reagan/Bush/Refuckyoucan supply side paradise. We liberals think it's not working. We keep looking/hoping for a solution.

But no solution is needed. Bremer was given carte fucking blanche to institute the "reforms" that Jay Garner... was too cowardly to do?

It's working just as all those PNAC asswipes intended all along.

Keep that in mind all ye who consider voting for McInsane and the rest of them. Think of Spanish Inquisitional Feudalism, but with computers.

How to Totally Humiate Oneself Before the World in One Easy Step or...

Look at my 2008 NCAA Basketball tournament picks. Let's see if Firestarter, an admitted non-fan, does better than I do.

Not sure yet just how to post images and shit, but sometimes ya gotta say, "What the Fuck" and hope for the best, right?

I click on the bastard and it comes up HUGE. Oh well. Hope I did better picking winners.

Things are squirrelly, once again. Oh hell, in whose life are things NOT squirrelly these days with Dubster and the Refuckyoucans on top of the economic disaster they've enabled. Just gives you the warm and fuzzies when he says he's not going to do anything to endanger the long term health of the economy. Right. Like having scalding beer foam pumped up your ass.

Gotta move and sell the house, since Mummsy-in-law is gone, which means looking for a new place. Hate moving. Especially out of what's likely the nicest house in which I'll ever live. Really sucks dead donkey dick. I'll have to figure out how to post some pics of the view we have here. Fucking gorgeous. Trying to see the bright side: We can get The Republican paid off and send him packing to someplace like Mississippi where he'll be more at home. Maybe get a few months of life free from Ms Thing too. The wife'll miss the grandmonster, but while his mom is feeding him frozen PB&J sandwiches, the pups'll get to sleep with both eyes closed.

Oh and then there's March Madness. Firestarter isn't too impressed by our tradition, but I damn near live for it. Especially the first two days and the upsets. I fell in love with the whole shebang back when Gonzaga knocked off Stanford and made it to the round of eight. FS likes it too; check the link and you'll see he filled out his bracket. When I get mine filled out, I'll try to post it too. I ran out of chicken blood and insence, so I'm not done yet.

The end result of all this is that I won't be posting very consistently. Not that I ever did. Unless all my picks get bounced in the first round. Maybe I shouldn't pick anyone. Fuck it.

OK

Obama

Hell of a speech today. I only heard blurbs, and missed the Fucks News BS, so I'm not sure just how awesome it really was. The more O'Lielly and Vannity hate it, the better it is. Thing is, that when Hills open her mouth I usually hate her more than I did before. When Barack opens his mouth, I actually feel more comfortable with the though of him as President. The guy really seems to think. Novel idea in this day and age of polls and focus groups. Someone called in to Big Ed today and said something about Barack having answered the 3 AM phone call with this speech. Good analogy.

Summbitch is so cool, I'd bet he pisses ice water. Shit gets thrown at him and he just does not get rattled. What impressed me the most was his talking about his Mom, and how she voiced her fears of black men looking at her on the street and her occasional racist remark. This woman raised him, and he doesn't denounce her or distance himself from her. Even though he does not embrace her fears or remarks, he acknowledges that she is a part of him.

He's learned from his life's experiences.

Experiences that the sheltered and privileged don't have.

Deny, denounce, repudiate and distance yourself from everyone and everything you (or your focus groups) find offensive and pretty soon you're a one person leper colony. My wife voted for Dino Rossi. My Mom and sister voted for Dubya at least once each. There's more to those people than just those instances, just as I'm sure there's more to Barack's former pastor than the sound bites leaked by Fucks Noise and friends.

Barack is hoping that we understand that.

Maybe next time Hillary gives her tantrumish endorsement of McInsane, she'll include this speech along with his one from 2002. ya think?

Siegelman... Spitzer... Who's Next?

You can go to Greg Palast's site (h/t to fine folks at Crooks and Liars once again) to read the entire story, but think about this tid bit first:

From Eliot's Mess

The $200 billion bail-out for predator banks and Spitzer charges are intimately linked

A note on “Prosecutorial Indiscretion.”

Back in the day when I was an investigator of racketeers for government, the federal prosecutor I was assisting was deciding whether to launch a case based on his negotiations for airtime with 60 Minutes. I’m not allowed to tell you the prosecutor’s name, but I want to mention he was recently seen shouting, “Florida is Rudi country! Florida is Rudi country!”

Not all crimes lead to federal bust or even public exposure. It’s up to something called “prosecutorial discretion.”

Funny thing, this ‘discretion.’ For example, Senator David Vitter, Republican of Louisiana, paid Washington DC prostitutes to put him in diapers (ewww!), yet the Senator was not exposed by the US prosecutors busting the pimp-ring that pampered him.
Naming and shaming and ruining Spitzer – rarely done in these cases - was made at the ‘discretion’ of Bush’s Justice Department.

Or maybe we should say, ‘indiscretion.’

In a nutshell, just as Siegelman was railroaded on a flimsy assed bribery charge, so he would be silenced about Rovian Refuckyoucan election fraud and theft, Spitzer is about to be railroaded on the basis of the outdated Mann Act (thinking with the wrong head), so he will be silenced about the Gubmint's role in enabling the banks to bring about the mortgage crisis we're now experiencing.

Months and months ago, when Gonzo was finally gone from the inJustice Department, I wrote that I just couldn't rejoice. The reason being that in Bushworld nothing EVER gets better; only worse. Sure enough, the Mucous Man has done nothing to clean up the ass wipings he inherited.

I've been pissed about the way refucks like Vitter, DeLay, Craig, Foley, etc can stay in office long after their crimes/charges are made public, and in some cases never be forced to leave office. States are going after DeLay and Craig, but federal charges? Fuck oh dear, no way in hell. Can't touch good ole Diaper Dave Vitter. I guess sitting in a diaper isn't sex, even when you pay a hooker to put it on you, eh? And since DC isn't a state, technically, no state lines could be crossed, and thus no Mann Act Violation.

Makes perfuckt sense to me. When I turn my head inside out. Anyway...

People with a lot more clout and notoriety than I have been saying for a LONG time that the real story behind the US attorney scandal is not how/why the few lost their jobs, but how/why the many kept theirs. Think about that along with "prosecutorial discretion."

and on an entirely different note: anyone know why my spacing changed after the inclusion of the italicized quote? ???

Save Some Fucking Trees...

and just send me the fucking check.

What I really want to know, is just who got that 42 Million to send out those dumb ass letters...? Since I have a brain, or had one last time I checked anyway, I know the IRS didn't do it. In the creation of Reagan's wet dreams, we know everything possible gets privately contracted. BTW...

There are more letter due to come out too. People who don't get them have to be told why. What everrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Spitz er Gagged.

So Spitzer violated the Mann Act, eh? May as well jail the half of America that's ever made a "romantic getaway" i.e. boink-a-thon, while unmarried, and crossed a state line in the process.

Other than being stupid, and sleazy, and hypocritical, is he really a criminal? Is the NSA and the FBI going to start going through credit card receipts and hotel/motel records to come after all the rest of us too?

See you all in Gitmo, I guess.

Monday, March 10, 2008

Spitz er Swallows?

OK, OK..... Some dems like hot over priced chicks too. When they're hot there's always a price, right? Might be dinner, might be wearing a diaper, but there will be something you gotta do/pay.

And just think what we might not have known if we'd had to ask/wait for a warrant.

One more reason to grant telecoms retro immunity. In all seriousness....

DUDE... you're governor. The line may not be quite as long, but there WILL be plenty of chicks who will fuck you when your term is done. Patience Grasshopper.

Fucking moron.

Visualise Whirled Others

For some fucking reason, and I can't figure out why (so call me stupid; least I'm not evil/republican) I've gotten a lot of hits from here. Well, investigating, I took a look at the little widget that tracks the hits to his tags. Pretty cool. The top tags are:

(from BOLDEST to least, or from MOST hit to least)

BUSH real surfuckingprise there

Evil and Republicans seem to be tied; unfortunately not to a concrete anchor.

Oh fuck, I forgot Stupidity, tied with the last two. Fancy that. Ooooweee.

and.... Nonsense. Now what the fuck would Nonsense have to do with Dumbass Evil Republican followers of Bush, eh?

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

So... Ms Hilly-Jo Lieber-Clint

You endorse John McCain over Barack Obama?

You bring a life of experience; He brings a life of experience; Barck brings a speech..? So in other words: If I don't get the nomination, no one does. Your experience:

At some point in time you fucked the man who was Governor of Arkansas.

At some point in time you fucked this same man who became President of the United States. From what I've read, while this man was president, you slept together in the same bed in the white house.

THAT and a term as senator is your experience. Don't try to bullshit me otherwise.

I'm done with you, bitch. So fucking done. Done to the point where, if you do get nominated, I won't be darkening my ballot circle with pen or pencil. Or blood. oh but it'll be bodily. hint hint.

So what's got me pissed off this time...?

"It's 3 AM and the phone's ringing" First off.....

That phone rings and there's a SHIT LOAD of dip shits answering and recording and analyzing and doing everything but letting whoever's Preznit talk. That got established with Raygun if not before. Hill/Barack/whoever isn't going to even know a call was received until longgggg after the caller's hung up. So we start from irrelevancy, and go where?

Somehow the call puts YOUR kids in mortal danger, and ONLY the answerer can save them. Yeah right. What the add really says -- Are you that fucking stupid that you think anyone with half a brain would think it says anything else...? -- is THIS:

Elect Hillary or your kids will die if the white house Bat Phone rings.

We need more proof that hilly is anything other than what I've said? A good old boy, same-ol-same-ol but in panties? That's right out of the refuckyoucan playbook. End of story.

Granted, it takes a bit of arrogance to believe that you have what it takes to run this country. It's inherent. But when that arrogance goes over into expectation, and a sense of entitlement, well... NO.

I listen to self confessed "good people" talk about the life they deserve. How they should have a house, and.... Nope. Can't buy it, can't have it. Goodness has nothing to do with it. Get a better job. and no, I haven't become a republican.

I'm actually waiting for Hillary to snap. I know she was "the woman behind the man" for ... how many years experience does she have? For all the fuck I know she could have actually been the gov/prez for all those years. Fine and dandy, and all the more fucked up. No way she can come out and say that. But I think her ego demands that in some way at some point she will. And there is NO good time to do so.

Bummer that it ain't 2000 or 2004. I could have voted for her then. But she's talked too much.

Care for a Taste of Dubya's Utopia? ???

Got a heads-up on this while listening to Thom Hartman. The actual text was placed on Craig's List. By whom, I have no idea. As you read it, I would ask you to keep in mind the Reagan Refuckyoucan mantra: Government cannot solve problems; Government IS the problem. and mantra 2: The nine most fearsome words in the English language are: I'm from the Government and I'm here to help.

Joe Conservative wakes up in the morning and goes to the bathroom. He flushes his toilet and brushes his teeth, mindful that each flush & brush costs him about 43 cents to his privatized water provider. His wacky, liberal neighbor keeps badgering the company to disclose how clean and safe their water is, but no one ever finds out. Just to be safe, Joe Conservative boils his drinking water.

Joe steps outside and coughs--the pollution is especially bad today, but the smokiest cars are the cheapest ones, so everyone buys 'em. Joe Conservative checks to make sure he has enough toll money for the 3 different private roads he must drive to work. There is no public transportation, so traffic is backed up and his 10 mile commute takes an hour.

On the way, he drops his 12 year old daughter off at the clothing factory she works at. Paying for kids to go to private school until they're 18 is a luxury, and Joe needs the extra income coming in. Times are hard and there're no social safety nets.

He gets to work 5 minutes late and misses the call for Christian prayer, and is immediately docked by his employer. He is not feeling well today, but has no health insurance, since neither his employer nor his government provide it, and paying for it himself is really expensive, since he has a precondition. He just hopes for the best.

Joe's workday is 12 hours long, because there is no regulation over working hours, and Joe will lose his job if he complains or unionizes. Today is an especially bad day. Joe's manager demands that he work until midnight, a 16 hour day. Joe does, knowing that he'll lose his job if he does not.

Finally, after midnight, Joe gets to pick up his daughter and go home. His daughter shows him the deep cut she got on the industrial sewing machine today. Joe is outraged and asks why she doesn't have metal mesh gloves or other protection. She says the company will not provide it and she'll have to pay for it out of her own pocket. Joe looks at the wound and decides they'll use an over the counter disinfectant and bandages until it heals. She'll have a scar, but getting stitches at the emergency room is expensive.

His daughter also complains that the manager made suggestive overtures towards her. Joe counsels her to be a "good girl" and not rock the boat, or she'll get fired and they'll be out the income.

His daughter says she can't wait until she's 18 so she can vote for change or go to the Iraq War.

They get home and there's a message from his elderly father who can't afford to pay his medical or heating bills. Joe can hear him coughing and shivering.

Joe turns on the radio and the top story is a proposal in Congress to raise the voting age to 25. A rare liberal opinionator states that it's an attempt to keep power out of the hands of working class Americans. The conservative host immediately quashes him, calling him "a Utopian idealist," and agreeing that people aren't mature enough to make good choices until they're at least 25.

Joe chuckles at the wine-swilling, cheese eating liberal egghead and thinks, "Thank God I live in America where I have freedom!"

Had a good laugh? Well you can stop, because whoever wrote that, has given an almost perfect description of the Refuckyoucan vision for this country. In Dubyaland, there will be no public services. Police, fire, utilities, schools, will ALL be run by private companies. Shit, I remember the days when a "free compulsory education," was indeed free. I never paid for paper, pencils, pens; never had to raise money for uniforms or travel when I played HS sports. Health insurance that covered me while on school property or activities cost $2.00 for the FUCKING YEAR!!! And for $10 I had insurance 24/7. I think by my senior year (1974) the prices had gone up to $5 and $20.

I think you can get the general idea.

Vacationgate Anyone?

Four Fucking Hundred and Fifty Fucking two days of Vacation? ??? ????? For the supposed leader of the free world? (since we've so arrogantly proclaimed our country)

"The American people need to understand..." Yeah right... The life and death struggle we're in. The war for the ages. The battle for mankind.

I need to go cut some weeds in front of the cameras.

"I truly am not that concerned about him."

Makes me wonder if he's ever NOT been on vacation. Fucking douche bag for the ages. So...

seven years and three months is kinda like 2705 days. Hmmm... divided by 4fucking5fucking2 is about 5.9845... help me Dubya, where'm i Goin?

A vacation day for just barely fucking under SIX days of work. That's like 365/6 = 60.9909...

Five fucking weeks per year. But what the fuck does he do to earn it?

The best government is the least government...? He definitely has the least part down. Not surprising for the town world drunk.

He won't talk to any world leader who doesn't agree with him going in.

If there's a problem, he appoints a "Czar" to deal with it.

OOOooohhhhhh... he made that impromptu visit to Iraq to carry the plastic turkey around. How fucking silly of me to forget that.

This motherfucker has done nothing but try to act like the actor who acted like he was preznit. Got that?

He should drown in his own shit, just like a yeast cell.

$4 Gas and a Deer in the Headlights

A lot's been made about Dubya's news conference, so much in fact that it seems almost ludicrous to think that there's anything more to add. Maybe it is, but what the fuck; here goes anyway.

First off, if anyone in the world still believes that anything truly news worthy ever get released at one of these little shindigs... New should be true, shouldn't it? You'll certainly never hear anything that's true ever pass through Dubya's lips. He lies...

it's what he does.. it's all he does... and he absolutely will... not... stop! !!!

No one's told him about gas hitting $4/gallon, yet 5 minutes later, there was something else he had to deny knowledge of, and to do so he used the excuse that he was concerned about oil and gas prices.

That's the one that everyone seems to be harping on, but from the angle that he's so embarrassingly stupid, that he can't keep track of the lies he's telling. It's NOT stupidity. Nor is it merely his being out of touch. It's not as DCup describes her parenting style, "benign neglect."

This is Malevolent Neglect.

This mother fucker truly DOES NOT CARE. He would just as soon the entire fucking country go away this next November, except of course for his cronies and ass kissers, leaving him right where he is. Right atop the shit heap he's made of the greatest country in the world.

There's no recession on the way. Cuzz he says so? Yeah, right. My ass. JP does a much better job than I can, deconstructing Dub's latest fuckover, his rubber-chicken-in-every-pot stimulus package. Why not some public works? Why not some jobs doing things to improve the country and lay the ground work for a truly improved economy? Yeah, why not..?

Cuzz true improvements don't fit his Malevolent Neglect gubnin style.
