Sad Days / UPDATED /Again

(forgive me this time of mourning... scroll down for newer posts... for the... for an undetermined time...

This morning I had to make the most painful decision of my life to this point: I'm going to have to euthanize Lacy, my dog.

I can barely hold it together as I write, and it makes me wonder all the more:

How can those bastards in the Senate, and House, sleep after signing death warrants on over 40,000 people per year? Make no mistake, that's what they've done.

In a sense, the Tea Baggers are right to wonder what's happened to our country:

It's lost its humanity.

It's nice to fight for the rights of the unborn, but what about afterward? They're on their own, right? Fuck 'em, eh? Take care of 'em and they might grow up to be Democrats; best kill 'em pre-emptively.

You want to talk about death panels? Talk about yourselves, Sarah Paliin... Chuck Grassley.... Ben Nelson.... Patty Murray.... Maria Cantwell... Max Baucus.... Joe Lieberman...

Lacy gave up the ghost

I can't say how much I'll we'll miss you.

UPDATE:

Since my good friend from long ago, Camille, commented, I'm reminded of a post she made on Facebook. On her birthday, she asked people to make donations to the Desert Haven Animal Refuge. I'd like to think we gave Lacy a good life. Please donate and give other animals a chance as well.

Now Taking Applications

For two upcoming openings for Progressive candidate for US Senate, representing the state of Washington.

In a 51-48 vote on cloture, 30 democratic senators, Murray and Cantwell included, voted with 18 republicans to BLOCK an amendment that would have allowed for prescription drugs to be imported into the US at cheaper prices. 48 - 30 = 18 meaning that ==> 22 refuckyoucans actually voted FOR something that would have benefited ordinary citizens.

BOTH Senators received voice mails from me registering my disgust and displeasure and my clear intent to withhold voting for them in future elections. I won't vote refuckyoucan; but I won't vote for them. Obama is working extra hard to write a legacy of , "Oh what could have been; what we almost had," and these two seem more than happy to help him along, by taking positions in direct opposition to what their party SHOULD represent.

Don't give me carap about these drugs not being safe; we're not talking about more sit from China. We're talking USDA approved drugs; drugs that are in many cases produced here and exported to be sold overseas at prices lower than what we pay here. A Canadian pharmacist can sell drugs here at a discount and still make money.

There is no safety issue; where are the dead Canadians? The dead Europeans? ???

This is GREED! Pure, Raw, unadulterated GREED! Sociopathic GREED. MURDEROUS Greed. And Murray and Cantwell approve. They are accomplices and enablers.

What will make these sociopaths happy? When will it be enough? When will there be so much suffering, misery, bankruptcy, illness and death that they can no longer wear their Joe Lieberman smiles? ???

Dear Barack,

I'm really sorry to hear about your Grandmother, Toot's, death. I was soooooo hoping that she could live long enough to see you, the fruit of her labors and love, become this country's first African American president.

You win...? You BETTER make her proud.

My Sincerest Condolences

I want to join in the mourning of Tim Russert. I never have understood the seeming disdain that many bloggers seemed to show toward him. The references to him as Timmeh. I never got what that was about.

He was only six years older than me.

I wonder what the asshats at Fucks News have to say. They better not say anything about "losing one of their own." They aren't journalists. They aren't reporters.

Tim Russert was.

They're nothing but hacks.

Doing Some Catch-Up

Last weekend was pretty cool in some ways. We had both the Schtooper Bowl and Blogroll Amnesty Day. But in another way, last weekend was definately not cool: Saturday was -- there's no real graceful way to say it -- The last day of my mother-in-law's life.

Death is most always a bummer, but it can also be a relief in some ways. I will miss my MIL as she was always at the very least tolerant of me, if not always nice. The problem, as with most people when they age, was her health. She has a variety of physical ailments, that I'll not get into except to say that she inspired me to finally quit smoking -- I have not smoked since mid-August.

Probably her worst/most problematic ailment was her dementia. In her final days, she literally did not always know where she lived or who those were who were around her. It was very sad, and for my wife who took care of her, very frustrating.

I can only, at best, imagine how frustrating it must have been for my MIL. So...

As of Saturday, February 2, 2008, Elizabeth O Scott resides where the leaves don't need to be raked, standard Poodles don't need to be hoisted onto tables to be clipped, and weeds, if they appear at all, pull easily.
