Party Poopers?

That's the title to a column here in the PI by Robert L Jamieson on Monday. I've heard of this shit before, but in light of some of McCain's latest broadsides from his Senile Express.... I've fucking had enough.

Jamieson goes into a long description of this chick and her background as a Jewish Liberal, blah blah blah, but then she says that if Hillary's not on the ballot, she'll vote for McCain. I read that and I'm like, Whoa Bitch, you listening to yourself? You're willing to put another 4 years of Bush on the country, because....? Why again? ??? Well there's this shit:

His pitch riles her -- what she sees as his inability to offer concrete policies beyond buzzwords like "change."

"My big concern is Social Security," Frooman said. "I haven't heard him say much about that."

well, Jonny Mac certainly offers concrete.... concrete. He's a cement head. He admits to knowing nothing about economics, and has basically turned all that stuff over to Phil Graham, who makes Reagan look like an amateur when it comes to deregulating and letting industry have their way. He likes Dubya's plans to destroy Social Security too. So we can save it.

And there's more...:

There's also the issue of the resume. Obama has held his seat in Congress for three years, compared with Clinton's seven.

Clinton's Beltway tenure -- not including an eight-year turn as First Lady -- has seasoned her to deal with the snake pit of D.C. and enabled her to bridge party lines, Frooman said.

"Experience counts for something," she argued.

This "experience" argument makes my fucking blood boil. She has "Government experience" from being a first lady to a governor and a president? Besides fucking him,
we assume,
just WHAT did she do? Seriously, WHAT? Why not put Nancy Reagan up for office?

Seriously.

WHY not?

Ohhhhhh.... Nancy's not a senator. Back to "experience"...

Lots of people have experience.

Tom Delay

David Vitter

Newt Gingrich

Larry Craig

Duke Cunningham

There's Good experience, and there's Bad experience. When I sat through my education classes I came across a quote from James.... oh fuck that's his last name... anyway,

Supposedly some lady was trying to make a point to him and she told him that she'd taught for "x" number years. His response was to ask had she taught "x" number of classes, or one class "x" number of times?

Experience at doing the wrong thing, no matter how many times, how many years, doesn't count. Keep defending that Iraq War vote Hills. The only reason to defend the indefensible is that you believed in the original indefensible position: You wanted the fucking war, for some damn reason.

I haven't written to (her through) the PI, and I doubt there's any reason to:

Frooman remains unmoved. "I'm not voting this way because I'm endorsing the Republicans," she said. "I'm just so annoyed with the Democrats."

And the next time you don't like what you see in the mirror, do you cut yourself or break the mirror? Oh hell, nuke it from orbit; it's the only way to be sure, Right?

A vote for McCain, is exactly that.

Ms Frooman, there's a word for people like you:

MORON.

There's other words, but they're not nice like that one.

I Wish there Was a Place Called Stupidville

A place where people like this could live. From the Focus page in today's Sunday Times/P-I. Enjoy:

Can't exaggerate seriousness of event

I cannot believe all the negative conspiracy theories surrounding the shooting down of that failed spy satellite. This administration is one of the most straightforward, open and honest that we have ever had in our nation's history and we should believe it when we are told of the true motives for destroying that toxic bus.

It was only a year ago that the U.S. protested vehemently when China shot down one of its defunct weather satellites. That was a provocative action meant to demonstrate China's ability to knock satellites out of orbit at will. The ramifications of the warning are far-reaching. So much of our communication and the very defense of our nation as well as that of the other free nations in the world depend upon the operational reliability of satellites. To suggest that we would now do the very thing that we admonished the Chinese for doing is ludicrous.

We should take this administration at its word. They bravely and heroically saved us from half a ton of poisonous fuel that could have rained death upon the world's population. The seriousness of this catastrophe could hardly be exaggerated and it was well worth the million dollars plus that it cost taxpayers to end the crisis.

Our technology has not advanced to the point where we can safely launch toxic time bombs into space. If it happened once, it could happen again.

We narrowly averted disaster this time by employing an advanced weapons system that saved us from undeniable devastation. Therefore, I look forward to an announcement soon from the administration that henceforth we will no longer be launching satellites into orbit in order to avoid this very dangerous situation from repeating itself in the future.

I read this shortly after eating my breakfast. I'm not sure how I held it down.

Initially I thought this guy was serious, but then as I reread the thing, I realized that NO one, except perhaps The Republican, my sub-moronic brother-in-law, could possibly be so fucking stupid to believe something like this. I mean it's so stupid it's funny. Funny to the point of possibly being brillyunt.

Surely this guy has a future in writing for people like Colbert, Stewart and Lewis Black. Maybe the guy should just have his own show somewhere. But then...

There's The Republican and people like him who really, truly, honestly do believe this fucking shit, and those who spew it.

More on the satellite here. According to someone, there was a direct hit and debris is now falling into the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Hmmm... and no where in between? ??? I may have said so before, but Firestarter5 had the idea that the Dubster's lackies might plan to miss and have the missile hit Iran instead.

I Suck as a Host

What a douche bag. I should have put out the welcome mat this morning. Instead I let Keith O, and who knows who else, beat me to it. Oh well, a day late and a dollar short, here we go:

Welcome to Seattle.
Come ride the SLUT.

Actually, our mayor is a bigger douche bag than I am. "I don't care what they call it, as long as they ride it." What we call it -- besides the SLUT -- is a big assed waste of money shelled out to please Paul Allen and his Vulcan Real Estate development company. Damn... They don't mention the crown turd jewel of Paulie's holdings: The Experience Music Project, which seriously folks, looks MUCH more like a turd than a jewel. I can't find a picture to do it true justice. When you see it, it looks like the Space Needle took a shit. If they ever give me the land to build a museum for my Zippo collection, I won't fuck up the skyline like he did.

Sorry. I get side tracked so easily. Oh yeah... Ride the SLUT...

You do here once, you'll want to cum again.

Bush is a Lying Sack of Shit

When writing about Bush that's about the only headline you'll ever need. Once again, he accuses Dems of gumming up the works, while ignoring the simple fact that his own Republican base is to blame. They couldn't pass an immigration bill when they were in charge, and they stood in the way of efforts this time. They spent more time funding Bush's War than the Dems did, yet Bush didn't complain back then like he did this past time around. They couldn't pass the spending bills last year, that the Dems are dealing with now AFTER cleaning up the mess the Repugs left behind. Again, no complaints last year, but the Dems need to "step up." The Repug controlled Congress passed his tax cuts with expiration clauses, but now that the Dems plan to let some actually expire, it's They who are to blame for "tax and spend," policies. HE supposedly stands for fiscal restraint? Riiiiight. Most sensible people that I know would think of uncontrolled deficit spending as a LACK of restraint.

It's amazed me that from the time he began campaigning in the primaries for the 2000 election, he's told lie, after lie, after lie, and no ever called him on it and made it stick. He went through how many reasons for invading Iraq? and yet it was Kerry who was the flip-flopper. When he accused Kerry of calling him a liar, I couldn't understand why Kerry would back off, and not just tell him that when the shoe fit he had to wear it.

Fuck all this, "Respect for the office," bullshit; he's proven himself unworthy in every way possible. Nancy, Harry, and all the rest of you: Stand up for yourselves and call him what he is.

P.S. Go here and sign the petition telling Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to start pointing out that it's THE REPUBLICANS who are holding up legislation and keeping Congress from getting ANYTHING done. (read the report about the obstruction and how Senate members voted on specific issues, too) (Stolen from DCup; sorry dear)

Scooter Skates

I have no idea what all the blogger buzz is, and I didn't get to watch the end of Countdown to see if Keith had one of his patented rants, but I'm sure anyone with a brain in their head is livid. I'm actually shocked and surprised that it wasn't a full pardon. That W would pay lip service to, respecting the jury's decision, doesn't surprise me at all. So easily and fluidly do the lies flow forth after years of practice. I wonder if he even knows when he's lying anymore..?

Such total disregard for what Libby did. It's not just Libby, nor the crimes themselves that he committed, but the crimes of W, Dick and the rest, that he covered up. The unmitigated gall, the total lack of any moral compass, the high mindedness, the short sightedness and pettiness that these creatures exhibit enrages me. That he's sold so many on the notion that he's stupid, that he's a frat-boy, that he's just a stumble bum in over his head, shows the true depth of his, and his handlers, evil genius.

Joe Wilson called bullshit on one of his many lies, and in his pettiness, he took out his revenge on Wilson's wife. Somehow he felt entitled; to be above question. In their short sightedness and conceit, they refused to look beyond the outing of one individual, ignoring the fact that it was more than she they outed. They outed an entire covert network: agents, contacts, and all of their families and associates. No one with any hint of morality and values, would stoop so low as to put untold lives at risk, all for the petty end of attaining personal revenge.

Don't tell me you're a Christian, George. Don't tell me God talks to you. Not any God I've ever known. The only purity about you, is your evilness. What the fuck are you really doing? What are you really hiding?

This administration goes to such great pains to place as much distance between themselves and Bill Clinton as they can, proclaiming themselves to be the benevolent ones, here to put the country and the White House on a higher plain. I remember Bill being asked about his affair with Monica and him answering to the effect of, "I did it for the most despicable reason of all; I did it because I could."

Guess what, George, you treasonous bastard, you're worse than Clinton could ever hope to be. The fact that you could let Scooter skate, the fact that it's a power you didn't have to usurp to use, that for once the offense you commit may not be impeachable, doesn't make the action any less despicable. It may even make it more so.

Update

Well I'll be dipped. I wrack my brain and slave over my keyboard and come up with a catchy title, and what do I wake up to in the morning? This morning's Seattle PI headline.

Blogger by default

Sheeesh. All I wanted to do was leave a comment and not be anonymous, and lo and behold, I had to create a blog. I KNOW I had an account once before with no blog, but something seems to have happened.

I have no idea if this post will lead to others, or be my one and only. If I post again, I have no idea what the subject will be.

One thing: I MUST give a tip of the hat to Ann at Practically Harmless, from whom I've stolen the phrase for my title. If she gives me her blessing and/or forgiveness, I promise her top billing on my blog roll (once I figure out how to make one.)

Oh what the hell... let's throw in something with some content. Here's my latest attempt to get my views printed by the Seattle PI:

I'm intrigued by the many reactions to the "Passport Crisis," but it seems to be the perfect example why the conservative/republican approach to government does not, will not and cannot ever work.
I remember Ronald Reagan, the darling of every republican '08 candidate for president, saying, "Government is not the answer" and "Government is not your friend." Certainly, W's government is not the friend of the American people, but in more general terms, with Reaganism's core beliefs becoming republican core beliefs, and the Reagan 80's being touted as "the good old days," I have to wonder what people expect when they vote for republican candidates.
Think for a moment: If a republican administration were to actually formulate and institute a program that were to succeed, they would prove Reaganism wrong. When a republican proggram fails, all they need to do is stand back and say, "See; we told you so. Government isn't the answer." In simplest terms, there is no incentive for conservatives to succeed. Not only are there no consequences (in their minds) for failure, there is actually a need for failure.
In one sense the passport backlog is not a crisis of the magnitude of Iraq, spiraling deficits, corruption or our failing health care system, but to a person or family that's worked and saved for years for a vacation abroad, only to have to cancel it and forfeit their hard earned money spent on plane tickets, etc., it's a very big deal indeed. The only reason for the crisis is this government's "incompetence by design." After passing laws which would lead to a huge increase in applications, the State Dept. failed to hire, and still has not hired, additional personnel to handle them, thus the backlog. This government's response, the typical, "No one could have anticipated ________," (Gov't standard form WBAZERO) simply doesn't fly. My seven year old grandmonster could have anticipated the surge. This crisis was created. Why?
A look at this administration's record shows more and more government functions being put in the hands of corporations, usually run by heavy republican donors, former Halliburton execs or some other crony type; the main qualifications being a lack of qualifications. The Army no longer cooks its own meals, repairs its own vehicles or trucks its own fuel. Airport security, prescription drug coverage and portions of veterans' health care are privatized as well. Post Katrina security was in part handled by private security services (mercenaries) such as Blackwater; the need being created by W's failure in Iraq (a shortage of National Guard to guard the nation), and the overall mess that is the Dept. of Homeland Security. Social Security would be privatized if W could get his way; "The system is going bankrupt."
The yet to be proposed solution is to privatize the passport application process, but in order to necessitate that, the need had to be created: the government had to fail.

Update

Well I got published. But of course they edited it. Oh well.
