This morning I had to make the most painful decision of my life to this point: I'm going to have to euthanize Lacy, my dog.
I can barely hold it together as I write, and it makes me wonder all the more:
How can those bastards in the Senate, and House, sleep after signing death warrants on over 40,000 people per year? Make no mistake, that's what they've done.
In a sense, the Tea Baggers are right to wonder what's happened to our country:
It's lost its humanity.
It's nice to fight for the rights of the unborn, but what about afterward? They're on their own, right? Fuck 'em, eh? Take care of 'em and they might grow up to be Democrats; best kill 'em pre-emptively.
You want to talk about death panels? Talk about yourselves, Sarah Paliin... Chuck Grassley.... Ben Nelson.... Patty Murray.... Maria Cantwell... Max Baucus.... Joe Lieberman...

Lacy gave up the ghost
I can't say how much I'll we'll miss you.
UPDATE:
Since my good friend from long ago, Camille, commented, I'm reminded of a post she made on Facebook. On her birthday, she asked people to make donations to the Desert Haven Animal Refuge. I'd like to think we gave Lacy a good life. Please donate and give other animals a chance as well.

So sorry, Chris. Our dogs are our fur-kids, part of our families. Thinking of you and know that you are making the right decision for Lacy out of love.
Thanks. I appreciate the thoughts. She's just gone downhill at an exponential rate this past year. Bad hips. She can barely get around now.
Chris, I'm sorry about your dog. We get so attatched and they are so much a part of our lives that it feels like we've lost a family member. They provide unconditional love and it just doesn't seem fair that their time is so short. Hang in there pal.
Thanks Tom,
I've got step kids, but no kids of my own. Lacy was about as close as could be to a kid. It's not a fun decision to make, but after agonizing from the time I decided until the time it happened.... It's what I had to do. Even with anti-inflammatories and pain killers, she still woke up in pain Thursday morning, and barely made it up and down the stairs to go in and out. I just hope I gave her a good life. Like you say: They love unconditionally. Unlike us, it's all they know to do; you have to work hard to make them hate.
Ever read the saying: Lord help me be the person my dog thinks I am? My sister reminded me of that today, and wondered what the world could be if we everyone could be that person..?'
Thanks again.... my love to Jan.
Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!
Sorry about Lacy CiS. I know what you're going through.
Thanks for the sentiments, guy. As you know, pets bring a lot of fun and joy, but when it's time to make decisions like we've had to...
So how's life with Kitteh? The kitty named Eh. Not sure when or if we'll get another big dog here. I'm looking forward to taking the three little ones to the bark park this spring to see if they mix with the big dogs or not.
