Austan Goolsbee...
Report to the principal immediately!
Sorry for the lack of a link, in an interview with Rachel Maddow last night he admitted what we all know already: Obama's extensions of the Billionaire Bailouts will NOT improve the economy and that they are NOT good for the country, but that doesn't matter. It's still a good deal.
Somehow he and/or Obama and his bubblemates believe that in 2012, we will see that they don't work and we will see that they need to be repealed. in some way that isn't evident now? in some way that wasn't evident when they were proposed and passed in 2001 and 2003? or when Reagan passed his.
The utter stupidity of these people amazes me. Their willingness to insult OUR intelligence offends me beyond expression.
Fucker needs to realize we can figure out who he really represents without him officially coming out of the closet.

Obama: The Maddow Interview
I've been looking forward to this for days now, for several reasons. Foremost, Rachel isn't a "water carrying apologist" like Ed Schultz who gave Obama a free pass with boot lick, when he asked him about his FISA cave-in. I've expected her analysis to be just that, and not a rubber stamp of approval. I want to try to focus on just one part. I was going to say a small part, but I don't think it's small at all.
Rachel asked him why he criticizes Bush, but not the Republican Party or their core, conservative beliefs. His answer was something like, "Well, we're winning aren't we?"
OK, that may be true, but the question was not about winning. The question speaks volumes about Obama's core beliefs, and Rachel explained to both Keith Olberman on Countdown, and Ron Reagan on his radio show that this is why to many liberals/Democrats/progressives, Obama is not their champion. I'm voting for him, and I encourage everyone to do the same, but until the choices came down to the final two, he has never been my first choice.
Obama's a conservative, but as oxymoronic as it may sound, he's not crazy like McGoon. He's actually an oasis of sanity in this desert of douchenozzlery.
I have a feeling I'll have damn near as many bees up my ass during any Obama Preznency as I have for Fuckstain's.

Hey Rachel Maddow
I hear you're in Seattle, but can't find out anything more than that. E-mail me to confirm an invitation to dinner. A good friend is over and she's making a gooooood Spanish style paella. Or if tomorrow or Sunday is better, I can grill some ribs.
Update:
Better let me know soon Rachel; I like to let my ribs percolate with the rub for a good 6-8 hours before cooking. 2 hours would be the absolute minimum.
But hey... ribs aren't cast in stone. I could do a beer can chicken...? Or a cedar planked salmon...? or would that be too Palinesque? Tuna steaks...?
Update II:
All jokes and/or fantasies aside... seriously.... Just dinner. Drinks if you like. Conversation.
Update III:
Is she a vegetarian? I could do mushrooms..? Portabellas...? Psychedelics...?
Update IV:
I guess she's not coming. :sniffsniff: I even saved the good stuff and ate spaghetti last night.

Bad Time to Quit Drinking
Oh for the days of the SOTU drinking games (Rachel Maddow always comes up with a good one). Dubya's "nukular" fetish was always good for a shit load of shots. Ten weeks ago, I decided to quit drinking for a number of reasons, and haven't regretted it til tonight. I coulda gotten a lot of mileage out of, "surge" and "offshore drilling," but surprisingly not so much out of either "my friends" and "tax cuts."
All of that aside though, I coulda gotten mega-mileage out of the chances Obama left on the table. WHYYYYYYY didn't Obama nail McShame to the fucking wall on his votes Against funds for veterans. He kept saying to look at his record, that it spoke for itself, well that record alone should be more than enough to blow the fucking myth of McCain the Hero out of the water and to the moon. Not every vet can come home and marry a fucking adulterous beer baroness. Some vets need some of the benefits he has repeatedly denied them.

McCain the defender of the vets is a
FUCKING LIE !!!
John McCain is NOTHING but a god damned fraud.
Obama gives a hell of a speech, but he was sorely lacking in this debate. Not nailing the vet issue, not nailing the torture/water boarding issue, and repeatedly telling everyone when he thought McCain was right... I'd be well beyond shit faced if I'da been drinking. I coulda put away two if not three bottles of wine, just by sipping; not chugging.
I should work on a "Sober Game" for the VP debate coming up. I don't know; for every lie of Palin's take a blanket to a Nickelsville, or a can of soup or stew to a food bank. anyway..
Night night
Sleep tight
Don't let refuckyoucans bite

OK... Let the Games Begin (With Update)
As I said yesterday, Ann, has her game up, complete with links to her charity, and her past games. Her charity is a good cause; really good. Did you know that Dub's military sends these poor bastards home without so much as a shaving kit? No razor, tooth brush, clean undies...? So this outfit puts together kits that cost $127 and at least give a wounded soldier a start. The military bills soldiers for shit they may not get to bring back. Like their rifles.
And then there's Rachel Maddow's game. No links to her past games, although I suppose you could google them.
I know it's late, but hopefully all of you have all the info you need from yesterday's links.
I wonder what Cummander Codpiece will call the SOTU (if he even gives them) when he becomes dictator..?
Update:
I forgot to mention that JP says he will be live blogging the SOTU. One of his readers, Bukko, put up a link to an article with a few suggestions on where to go to find more games. If all else fails, use the google, to explore the tubes via: Drinking games, SOTU. There's only 152,000 or so from which to choose.

He Apologizes; Holy Shit
Probably old news, but I just heard it last night from Randi Rhodes. I can't remember verbatim, but he ate crow big time, especially for his bull shit about Hillary -- who I do NOT endorse, BTW -- only getting elected Senator because people felt sorry for her because of Bill's skirt chasing. Before Randi played a recording of Tweety's apology, she went through a litany of episodes of Tweety's belittling of, as well as his gushing and fawning over, chicks on his show. From herself, to Hill to Liz Edwards to Laura Ingraham to, you name her. I don't remember Rachel Maddow, but then as cute as she is, she's openly gay (Does he realize he would just make her more gay? and not convert her?) I don't remember Ann Cuntner being mentioned either, but then she isn't really human, so... would she count?
Ok, but what really surprised me were the examples of man-love. His admiration of Commander Codpiece's aviator package; his admiration of Rudy 9u11iani; his admiration ofForrest Gump Fred Thompson (probably just wants his old lady; must drive him bugshit crazy that an alfalfa look-alike like Dennis Kucinich -- who I DO endorse -- has a much hotter wife.) Next time he's on with Olbermann I'll have to watch his eyes; see if he's trying to look through the desk. Anyway... two things:
I wonder how long it will take Tweety to go back on his word and slam/belittle Hillary or some other woman...?
I wonder if he'll do his fawning over some dude first..?

I gotta yield credit to the Hart Man
Bummer. One less glass of wine and I might have been the first but alas.
Listening to Thom today while twiddling my thumbs on light duty, I heard him talk about a multitude of (possible) reasons for theMafia White Whore House to destroy the CIA's torture tapes. BTW...
Seems like everyone assumes that these are THE... ONLY... as in the is no library... tapes of Bush authorized torture. You believe that? You have a brain? Hmmm... oh
So he brings up the possibility that one reason could be that the existence of the tapes would prove that the torturing didn't get us shit for usable info (DUH). Fuck me. I kinda hinted at this shit the other day, but, hmm, did I say it explicitly enough, and firstish enough, to take credit?
Oh, oh, ophhhh...
Then Rachel Maddow comes up with the possibility that the fire started in Dick Cheney's office, due to electrical circuits being overloaded by too many paper shredders, might somehow be a result of cover up efforts.
And then the DanaPoleino kinda-sorta-semi-although-if-it-really-was-one-what-was-it-over meltdown.... was it over the lies Dubya? Dick? theCIA? Gonzo? Harriet? ____? told? ??? Just cuzz she repeats them (which is what they pay her to do; ask Scotty, Ari or Tony) doesn't mean SHE lies. It'll get to you Babe; it got to them.
And the Mucusman still hasn't figured out if waterboarding is torture yet.
