A New Link

I usually don't add links with a lot of fan fare, but I received a request from a woman (who can identify herself in a comment if she so desires) asking if I would add a link to the Mesothelioma and Asbestos Awareness Center to my blog roll. What could I do? She asked.

As on who has dabbled in safety issues and a former member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, I can attest to the seriousness of asbestos (and other airborne contaminant) related illnesses. I know it's a legitimate cause, so visit the site, and if you know anyone who's been exposed to asbestos, say they built their house with Chinese made wallboard, refer them to the site.

Oh and if you even think that you have asbestos in your house, don't screw with it. Call in the pros. It can't really hurt you unless you disturb it.

It's not Plagiarizing...

When you credit the original writer(s), in this case Susie Madrak at Crooks and Liars:
Someone noted yesterday that the makeup of the Egyptian demonstrators had changed -- that the middle class had broken through the "fear barrier" and had now taken to the streets. Think about that, because all over the world, the fear barriers are starting to fall and this is a huge threat to the global establishment, the very people who flock to Davos each year for the World Economic Forum:
This is why the regressives, the Chris Christies, the Tim Pawlentys, the Tea Baggers in general have declared war on public employee unions. They FEAR labor. They don't have to worry about private sector unions. The corporate whores are dismantling them quite effectively through bankruptcy procedures where they can go in the tank and under the guise of reorganizing, they defund the pensions and thereby demoralize the workforce to the point of abandoning their unions.

In the Bagger world, which lives by the precepts of the Cult of St Ronnie of Reagan, government is your enemy and the best way, the ONLY way to ensure that the undeserving aren't ripping you off -- illegal immigrants, welfare queens, public employees -- is to take EVERYTHING from EVERYONE.

Except themselves. And their rich benefactors.

Look back to Poland and Lech Walesa and Solidarity... it was LABOR that drove the final nails into the coffin of the Soviet empire. NOT Reagan.

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs...

For China, of course.

Watching the Scar and his trained seal this morning, they threw up on the screen an excerpt from a NY Times or WSJ article/op ed proclaiming that Obama and the dems were going to pay a huge price this mid term because they failed to make their administration's main mission about job creation. It's a myth on several levels of course, the first and foremost being that it's merely a code phrase for "We need more tax cuts and a bigger, nastier cattle prod for the assholes of the middle class." which is a bit redundant.

HERE is the problem:

(An advertisement from Southwest Airlines' in-flight magazine)

I'm sure just one of many companies who will help you profit from creating jobs. Jobs in China and MASS... LONG TERM... unemployment here.

Why companies like this one, ITI, are even allowed to exist is beyond me. Companies whose sole mission is to fuck over American workers in favor of American stock holders. The biggest problem that Democrats face in this regard is that much of this mas migration was due to the policies approved and even championed by Trader Bill Clinton. The next biggest problem the Democrats face in this regard is the lack of action by Barack Obama to turn back the page... Oh... excuse me, he wants to look forward, not back.

Obama needs to fight for the repeal of the policies, treaties and other nonsensical shit behind the de-industrialization of the US. It makes not one fucking rat's ass bit of difference how or how many jobs anyone creates, as long as companies go unpunished, and rewarded, for taking them overseas. But we know that none of this will never happen since such a fight by definition would not be bi-partisan since it's the conservatard BeePeeblicans who WANT this mess.

This is why I term Conservatism (and the BeePeeblican party) to be a pathogenic philosophy. What are they going to do when they've bled all of the jobs and money out of the middle class -- the non-stock holder class -- Here? When they can n longer "Do us the favor" of selling us cheaply made shit because no one has the money to buy it? ???

Sure they're creating a new working class in China, of several billion more than here in the US, but at the (near) slave wages the Chinese are paid, will there be enough money to satisfy their greed? And will the Chinese Government allow the profits to leave? Will the Chinese Government allow for a mass migration of capital and jobs in the reverse to take advantage of the now-impoverished and destitute American work force? Ooops

I don't know how much of this conservative disaster I will live to see. Since Obama has agreed to allow the slashing of Social Security, Medicare and the deregulation of the protections my union pension has had through his Bi-Partisan <== proof that it HAS to be wonderful, debt commission and the G-20, it's likely I'll die starving and penniless, if I'm not killed for my house first. I do believe that it's absolutely inevitable that this will implode on them; or crash like a breaker; choose your own metaphor.

When you dance with the devil, the devil calls the tune.

Blanched Obama Nuts Updated

So Barack got his candidate through. Blanch Lincoln, refuckyoucan of Arkansas won the democratic nomination for Senate. She did so in true refuckyoucan fashion: Voter suppression and corporate cash. The White House reaction? Full of shit, as has become their fashion.

I went to see Ed Schultz last night, and his first question from the stage was, "So is Barack Obama what you expected him to be?" or something like that. The response was at Best split down the middle if not more negative than positive. Myself? He's what I expected: A Phony.

The Lincoln endorsement, primary and reaction are just the latest in a long chain of centrist/corporatist actions by Obama which all add up to show that he is NOT a friend of Labor, the middle/working class or even the traditional democratic party base. Change? He's changed the Democratic Party into the republicans of the 50s and 60s.

I didn't get to speak at Town Hall last night, but if Barack Obama wants a second term he has two chances: He can either embrace the working class and labor, or he can hope he gets a tea bagger opponent like Harry Reid has.

I haven't liked Obama since he backed FISA and he's done NOTHING to change my mind since he's been in office. He's an opportunist and a phony.

UPDATE: (a paraphrased letter)

I called Norman Goldman yesterday and vented about Obama as corporate Democrat Numero Uno. He encouraged me to go to Ed's gathering here in Seattle and I did, but did not get to speak. Next time I'll go with a camping chair and camp out at the microphone. Anyway....

In his own venting yesterday about Blanche Lincoln, he pounded on the fact that she supported the Bankruptcy Bill during Dubya's Reign of Error. Well, let me ask: Who is the co-author of that atrocity? Let me answer: Joe Biden, Obama's Vice President. Further, who is Barack Obama's chief of staff? Let me answer. Mr, Where-else-are-liberals-going-to-go, Rahm Emanuel, who despises Howard Dean, and was firmly opposed to Dean's Fifty State Strategy, without which Barack Obama would NEVER have won in Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia or Florida.

This is like Dubya's choices of Cheney & Powell, and his second choice for Defense Secretary, Rummy. His first choice was Norman Schwartzkopf. An administration built from the get-go for invading Iraq. And Democrats were still moronic enough to vote in favor of that farce.

I said it yesterday and I'll say it until I see evidence otherwise: Barack Obama is a P-H-O-N-Y !!!!! His support for the FISA legislation proved it. NO constitutional NOVICE would have supported that, much less a "constitutional law professor." Oh well.... Dubya the Bankruptor has a Harvard MBA. So much for our higher education system.

I will give Ed credit for his positive outlook, but in the face of things, it strikes me almost as naivete. On the other hand, the alternative, curling up in the fetal position, doesn't appeal to me either. If Obama wants to be anything other than a one term president voted out in disgrace, he MUST embrace those who voted him in. Little people: The working class; Labor; Downtrodden minorities.

Obama supporters: Don't blame me, or Labor unions, for deserting Obama and the Democratic Party. Blame Obama for turning the Democratic Party into the Republican Party of Richard Nixon. The only thing missing is Watergate.

I remember Norm's quote of Eugene V Debs: Better to vote for what you want and not get it, than to vote for what you don't get and be stuck with it.

We need to free ourselves from Battered Voter Syndrome.

Walmart's Change of Heart

So WallyWorld suddenly becomes concerned about their employees' well being? After years of keeping workers just shy of full time to avoid benefits? After years of forcing workers into flex time arrangements rather than pay them overtime? Now they back a federal mandate requiring that they (among others) carry employee health insurance...? ???

Will that same mandate end their practice of denying workers' full time status?

Ohhhh.... Monica Crowley: The republican party has free market principles to reform health care. Fuck me up the ass with a tazer. Again. More fucktardulous asswipery from the douchenozzulous conservadips.

Anyway... Walmart, those free market grand champeeens, who want you to save money so you can live better... by buying Chinese made SHIT... that poisons your kids and your pets and is made by slaves, prisoners and children... at the expense of lakes, rivers, the sky and all things that live... I assure you, are NOT going to do anything that benefits their employees without it benefiting their corporate balance sheet MORE. and here's how it'll be done:

They will continue to escape whatever mandate there may be -- since their lobbyists will help write it, including the required loopholes -- by whatever means neccesary: Denial of hours, lay offs... While other businesses ie "small," 'family," that cannot absorb the legal costs from being sued, will fold under the crushing insurance costs that will continue to skyrocket.

Walmart's saying the right words. They sound nice and warm and fuzzy, like they're going to give the poor and downtrodden -- that they've helped create and maintain -- this wonderful gift all from the goodness of the heart they've finally grown. Riiiight.

It's called delayed gratification. Investing. The magic of it all is that they're convincing people that they're investing in workers. Fat chance. This is ALL for their own gratification.

Our Ever Further Journeying to Banana Republicanism

GM.... Chrysler... the ripple effect that will tear the guts out of our whole economy.

Everything is right on schedule.

You didn't still believe there was ever any intent to save anyone other than the investor class...? Come on.

I'm not forgetting the loans to these companies. They were a part of this. But the efforts were never about saving jobs or workers or retirees. It was all about breaking unions and well... collateral damage/shit happens. PLant closings... job losses... wages cut... benefits cut...

Now what was this I was hearing about the recession ending? ???

Bull shit.

Trickle Up: People Need JOBS

As I continue to stew over the to bail or not to bail debates and the shovelling of our dollars into the gaping maws of too-big-to-fail fraud farms and factories, ie investment banks, something put the Lincoln quote about labor and capitol in my head. Lincoln talked about the "superiority of labor to capital" in his "non SOTU address" to congress in 1861. I've always wondered about the context -- isn't that always what we liberals fail to understand ot acknowledge? we always take the stupid fucking things said by stupid fucking people like Palin, McCain, Limplog, Vannity et al out of context.

So here's the famous Lincoln quote "in context:"

... Monarchy itself is sometimes hinted at as a possible refuge from the power of the people.

In my present position I could scarcely be justified were I to omit raising a warning voice against this approach of returning despotism.

It is not needed nor fitting here that a general argument should be made in favor of popular institutions, but there is one point, with its connections, not so hackneyed as most others, to which I ask a brief attention. It is the effort to place capital on an equal footing with, if not above, labor in the structure of government. It is assumed that labor is available only in connection with capital; that nobody labors unless somebody else, owning capital, somehow by the use of it induces him to labor. This assumed, it is next considered whether it is best that capital shall hire laborers, and thus induce them to work by their own consent, or buy them and drive them to it without their consent. Having proceeded so far, it is naturally concluded that all laborers are either hired laborers or what we call slaves. And further, it is assumed that whoever is once a hired laborer is fixed in that condition for life.

Now there is no such relation between capital and labor as assumed, nor is there any such thing as a free man being fixed for life in the condition of a hired laborer. Both these assumptions are false, and all inferences from them are groundless.

Labor is prior to and independent of capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration. Capital has its rights, which are as worthy of protection as any other rights. Nor is it denied that there is, and probably always will be, a relation between labor and capital producing mutual benefits. The error is in assuming that the whole labor of community exists within that relation.

Think of all that in the context of today's impending Refuckyoucan Depression II.

With all Due Respect...

Several days, still lots of mileage from Obama's "outrage" over the NY Times story about Wall Street/ banker/ executive bonuses.

Where the fuck have you been these past few years Barry? ???

When the Washington Mutual guy got millions for a several weeks of watching the company spiral down the shitter... Where was your outrage?

When the airline industries were all going through chapter 11 and the bankruptcy courts granted their execs big ass bonuses while slashing thousands of rank and file jobs and wages... Where the fuck was your outrage then?

When the fat fuck CEO from Exxon retired with HUNDREDS of millions in his golden parachute, after raping and pillaging us all with high prices and record profits... Where the fuck was your god damned fucking progressive populist "change we can believe in" outrage then?

Oh.... you were arguing over keeping your Blackberry...

And it's not just the size, frequency and disconnect-from-reality of these bonuses, it's the content. It would be one thing if these bonuses were salary. As salary they would be subject to a rate of 35% over $357k; roughly. However, the vast bulk of many of these bouses are in the form of stock, options and other items that are not subject to income tax. Instead they are subject to the Capitol Gains tax. If they hold on to their stock for more then one year before selling, their tax rate drops from 35% to 15%. That's the HIGHEST rate.

This is why the term is not "executive salary," or "executive pay," it's "executive compensation."

No wonder corporate tools like McShame and the Boner want to make the bush tax cuts permanent.

Hey. It's nice when a president pulls his head from the sand and takes a quick look around now and then... it hasn't happened in 8 fucking years, but what the fuck had YOUR head in the sand until now, eh Bar? And are you going to KEEP your head out there for the next 4 years? ??? I really don't think it's going to take us long to get answers, at least to the second question. Just watch and see how much bi-partison negotiation watering down goes into this stimulus and other bills. And watch and see if he has the guts to stand up to the MEDIA and their bullshit cheerleading for the assholes on the right who fucked us over for... 8 yrs... since Ronnie Raygun... their entire existence. (you thought I was going to say far left, eh?)

I got a compliment from Lisa not long ago, saying it was nice to see I still had my skepticism. Hey. I just watch and listen.

And look for a good reason to take down my Kucinich banner.

It stays.

How Many Times Must Working People Get Fucked?

Adventures in taking your nine year old partying on a school night, as told in a nine year old's rambly fashion, has totally destroyed my train of thought here. Way to go Ms Thang.

Suffice it to say, the United Autoworkers cannot strike. They strike, the loans get canceled. It became law with the Automaker loan bill. Did you not believe me when I told you that nothing would get done without fucking the unions?

Like Every Broad Compromise...

it really has something in it to upset just about everyone.

so said the talking head to Alex Witt this morning on MSNBC.

And yeah, as a union member having to listen to this fucktardulent fraud -- the Harvard MBA who can't balance a check book -- lay out his demands, I'm pissed. Of course he had to lift his leg put his stamp on it. Let's see:

It started out as a request for $25 bil, then went to $34 bil, then $17 bil, before congress fucked up on giving them $14 bil. Now King-wanna-be Dub the Clueless proposes to give them no, he's giving PAULSON $13.4 bil. And I'm SURE he knows eggzaktly why it should be $.6 bil less than the last proposal. Not .5 less; not .7 less, but punto seis. And lets bow down to the whizdom of giving the money to Panky Hanky; I mean who knows what the auto exec bats would do with it. Fuckers might give it to line workers and not the poor starving investors sitting on their asses chewing their fucking fingernails down past their knuckles waiting and worrying about their dividends.

God damned ungrateful bastards, making more than the scabs down in Alliebammy and Tennesshoe working for peanuts, while their state governments give tax breaks away by the traincarload. What gives those UAW fucks the right to make enough to pay their bills and send their kids to college? Fuckers probably think emergency rooms are too good for them; that they should have a family doctor. And don't get me started on union pensions. If these bastards had just let Dubya privatize their social security so Wall Street brokers could use it to buy mortgages and credit defaults, we wouldn't be having to go through this crash and burn shit to give them their money. Like they have some right to better their lives.

Fuckin serfs.

It's all their god damned fault those underpayed, underbonused penthouse dwellers have to give up their company owned private jets.

Ooooooo...... I see the proposal is $17.4 Billion, now. Four more billion? Brokerage fees? Part of the $200 bil just approved, part of which will go to hedge funds ??? Once they grant concessions... wait... no concessions needed. Hedge funds don't deal with unions.

OK OK Okayyyyy... Call me jaded, cynical, infected by Bush Derangement Syndrome, but come one. This is Bush. He NEVER does anything right or good. After 8 years of non-stop disaster and destruction, he's going to help the country...? That's like thinking a President would be off somewhere singing Happy Birthday and raising cash while a city drowns during a hurricane.

Latest Poll: 29% still approve of the job he does? ??? Where the fuck do they find such clueless assholes? ??? It never seems to go below that number. I swear this motherfucker could squat and shit on the presidential seal on live TV and the number would STILL not move.

Do Parallel Universes Exist?

Or did someone kidnap Blood-lust Billy?

This is the second week in a row that he seems to defend the workers who are getting refucked up the ass -- they made major concessions during the negotiations over the Chrysler loan guarantees, only to NOT see their efforts reciprocated by management, who got their raises and bonuses -- in the fight over loans to the automakers. Billy says that labor only accounts for 20% of the cost of making a car, so the proposed refuckyoucan fuckover of the UAW would only save about 2% per car.

His history of being wrong with virtually every fucking statement -- there's the possibility he could have been right about something, somewhere, sometime -- he ever made about Iraq, leaves me a bit skeptical regarding the content and intent of his statements. Sorry.

Thank Geeawwduh that John McShame can set us straight by reassuring us all that if we just outlaw earmarks and stop pork barrel spending, that all problems will be solved. They're the reason Boigobitch is so corrupt as well. Right; he's an alter boy at heart.

George F Will must just HATE it when Paul Krugman gets invited on by Steffulupugous. Krugman just shuts him up through being correct and sensible. He has to chew on his own tail by objecting to Bush ignoring Congress and the rule law (8 yrs too late) by possibly grabbing money that "should" go to the ban-sur-vest companies. Without questions being asked, no doubt.

Finally, FINALLY... thank you Gwen Ifill, for talking about unemployment in its real, correct terms: As those people who are not employed, and not merely as those who are collecting unemployment checks. Ten Million according to her -- up by three million from year ago -- have been unemployed for so long that they've given up looking. Yeah Baby. Kepp those unemployment number low: Do away with unemployment payments... out... to people.

You Just Can't Redefine Horseshit

and turn it into ice cream.

There is one fact, and one fact only, that you need to know when considering why the refucks scuttled the auto industry aid package: The refuckyoucans want to redistribute restrict deny wealth.

They can talk all they want about leveling the playing field, equalization, competitiveness, but what THEY mean when they say those things, is not what liberals, ie sensible people mean. They want to invite/allow foreign companies to come to this country and redefine OUR wage standards to align with theirs. For all of the Hannities and O'Reillies and Dobbses ranting and railing against Obama and progressive democrats trying to Europeanize and socialize this country, THEY want to allow the foreign automakers' business practices to become ours.

Although this only.... ONLY applies to wages.

Our workers will not get healthcare.

Our workers' children will not receive free (college) education.

Our retired workers will not receive a pension.

And OF COURSE

Our workers will not be allowed to bargain collectively.

A rising tide lifts all boats? Yeah maybe in the ocean, or as an election slogan, but in real peoples' working lives..? The idea is to LOWER all boats to the lowest level possible.

Heaven forbid the foreign automakers in the south be pushed to raise wages or benefits. That sends wealth in the wrong direction. Since Reagan, the Republican party has been ALL about fucking the little people. Hence, they are refuckyoucans. Reagan, Bush Sr and this last little fucktard faker, have been ALL about redistributing wealth. They want it to go UP the food chain. And I shall include the fact that Bill Clinton did very little, if anything, to slow the flow.

Saving the automakers, sends money in the wrong direction. Down. To workers. To little people. If we starve, refucks don't care. As long as they get more in the process.

What REALLY broke this deal was the UAW's demand/request/desire that ALL employees at ALL levels come to the table to have their wages and benefits renegotiated. That would have meant execs losing out: No golden parachutes and bonuses for being total douchebag managers. That would have meant investors losing out (possibly): No dividends.

Don't kid yourself. This IS class warfare.

A Sequel

The original: Who Killed the Electric Car.

The sequel: Who Killed the Rest of the Cars.

I wonder if the stock market losses will hit four figures today?

Heaven forbid union-member auto workers in Detroit make a living wage. Fuck no; can't raise the non-union/southern auto worker wages. That would destroy the serf class. I told you there would be no help for Auto makers unless it broke the unions.

What they really fear is a repeat of the labor movement in eastern Europe that brought down the Soviet Union, the Iron Curtain and the Soviet Bloc. Oh...? That was Reagan's bluster that did that? Not Lech Walesa? Refuckyoucans FEAR organized labor.

The idea that unions are antiquated, that "we don't need them anymore," that they've "served their purpose...." Get your head out of your ass. In the meantime... AIG...

Isn't giving "bonuses" anymore. No. They call them "retention payments." Un-bonuses to keep their "key people" in place. Those key people who... Ran them into the ground..?

I'm Baaaaa aaaaack

Bummer, eh?

Well thanks to the two bestest brothers-in-law in the world, the wife and I had a wonnnnnderful time in Maui. A couple days of wind and rain, with a storm on it's way as we were leaving, but the rest of the time, no hustle or bustle, just fun in the sun.

Nice (?) to know the Refucks haven't changed a god damned stupid assed thing of theirs in my absence: If the democrats want to create jobs, why wouldn't they lower the corporate income tax rates? Why not eliminate the capitol gains tax for the next two years? <== John Boner

To keep jobs here; like they've been doing for the past 8 years of the most destructive administration in history.

That they're still willing to show their faces as they try to peddle this god damned snake oil... And the auto industry..? (me speaking, not them) NOTHING will get done, NOTHING will be given to them without a plan guaranteed to kill the unions. NOTHING. This bailout hubbub is not about saving the industry; it's about saving the bonuses and dividends and maintaining the pipeline of money up the food chain, not down. Three million jobs? Just little people. Relax; move along.

What was the projected cost of fucking up saving/privatizing Social Security? 1.3? 1.4 trillion dollars? When that amount gets promised to the speculators/hedge funds/execs/shareholders banks, all will be well, the crisis will be over. The base will be appeased, in other words.

Stephaluppugus is on, but I need to go see the vampires. Gotta get the cholesterol and blood sugar checked.

Lies, Lies and More Fucking Lies

with a half-truth or two thrown in to try to look honest and keep the "Maverick Myth" alive.

I missed most of Stephalupugus's interview with McStain, but did catch his bullshit about it being Obama's fault that his own campaign is so nasty, because Obama's not doing things McBlame's way: Town hall meetings. Caught the lies about his lobbyists staffers getting their paychecks from... Why doesn't he just produce their canceled paychecks from his campaign? It's called proof, honesty; ever heard of those? It seems like he won his game of Chicken over the taking of public finance money, if you ignore how he stretched broke ...rewrote his own rules.

Roundtable: The Ultimate Unamerican Refuckyoucan Newt is complaining about the Un-Americanness of Paulson's bailout proposal. Amazing how fuckers like him are trying to become Democrats all of a sudden. Tough to admit that your underlying philosophy ain't worth a pisshole in the snow.

Robert Reich makes excellent points: NOTHING in this bill gives ANYTHING to we in the masses.

I've heard Newt has a high, albeit misused IQ. He's doing a pretty good job of pointing out how the Refuckyoucan Deregulation i.e. Reaganomics has been an abject failure as he calls for solutions to problems he's spent his life helping create.

More big words from George W... F Will... ::yawn::

Drill Here Drill Now... Newt plugs his books/movies... and his idiotic ideas... the idiotic ideas that got us here. Too late to bitch Now Newt. It won't make you right.

BINGO !!!!! Reich calls Newt out on becoming a liberal.

Who's the fucker to Steffie's left? Bob something... He can't see that the economy has been nothing but a house of (credit) cards. And more bitching from Newt about "Bushleague" economic policies: The Walmart/China Stimulae.

More refuckyoucan/conservative jokes from Will about rebuilding infrastructure: building bridges to nowhere. Why is he always on this show? Seems like his hands are always on top of the table, so....? I mean it can't be because of his ideas. Unless Snuffles expects us to listen and see their fallacy.

Reich has it right on several points: This is a repeat of the 1928 economy in that so few have so much (1% has 20% of national income) and so many have too little to spend which means money's not flowing in a healthy way. Today's economy IS the refuckyoucan ideal: Borrow and spend. Not work, earn and spend, as Liberals would like to see. <== far left nonsense... as they said up to now.

The Plundering of My Virginity or...

I did my first caucus yesterday. Whoopty Fuckin' Do. My precinct shook out pretty much like the whole state did. Of our six alloted delegates, we sent 4 for Barack and 2 for Hillary. I did have some thoughts about being a hard core undecided and maybe that way move along in the process and get to inject an issue or two, like say TRUE universal health care as opposed to the Faux brands out there in Mittsachussetts. Mandated/forced coverage is NOT universal. When it comes time to choose between food on the table or an insurance card in your pocket, people WILL choose to eat, and risk the fines imposed. Kucinich and Edwards had the best ideas, but as I've cried before, they're gone. Anyway...

I went with Barack.

Even though he's incredibly naive, thinking Refuck/conservative/corporate entities actually have any intent of cooperating or agreeing to anything but their ideas lock, stock and barrel.

I hope he proves me wrong. He is after all a very inspiring speaker. Maybe he'll be able to convince some of them that there is an entity out their more important than themselves. That would be the country... this one... the USA... and that perhaps giving up and giving back just a wee tad bit of their amassed fortune for the benefit of that country will in the end return to them with interest. Hop on my knee... story time..:

A couple of weeks before my mother in law's last, we had a guy at work come down with viral spinal meningitis. Now it's viral,so anti-biotics don't do shit for you. You just gotta ride it out. Well, we do have insurance, through the company/union, but we don't have sick days. So... the Mother fucker has to come to work sick, cuzz he can't afford to stay home and get better. LUCkily no one else came down with it, but a couple of us came down with nasty-assed-fucking colds that may have been weakened versions or related somehow. I missed 3 days, and my MIL is gone.

Because Morons like the Republican -- the other brother in law -- and his ilk, believe that ANYthing that goes to benefit the 90% that's in charge of 10% of the country's wealth, is a hand out -- although he's always looking for ways to get his meds for free, huh..? -- we lose shit loads of man hours and productivity because of secondary illnesses. Illness spread by people who can't afford to stay home and get better. Whoa....

oh yeah... caucuses...

Like I say, it was a first for me. Fairly simple really. We started out with 9 out of 72 people being undecided, but in the end they all declared. I think they went about 7-2 or 8-1 Obama. Then we chose real people to be delegates and alternates, with no whining, crying, pissing or moaning actually. A couple of people who offered themselves stepped back to allow some who reeeeeeeeally wanted the positions. Since I was going for the lesser evil, I could not, did not, try to become a delegate. There's a second round of caucuses in the next few weeks to choose delegates to the statewide convention, where they will then choose the delegates that move on the the national convention.

Did I mention that in the meantime we will also have a primary, complete with ballots and Diebold readers. Supposedly don't mean fuckall, but we're having it. Maybe I'll go cast a vote for Kucinich. Several of us actually bounced the idea around. What everrrrr...

All told, it took about 1 1/2 hours of my boob tubin' time that I'll never ever get back, butcha gotta do whatcha gotta do to try to bring some sanity back to the world, eh?

Saw some cuties I didn't know lived in the neighborhood too.

The Legacy of the Shitstain-in-Chief

just so you know:

•I attacked and took over 2 countries.

•I spent the U.S. surplus and bankrupted the US Treasury.

Union Members...

Ever wonder why you pay those dues? Besides allowing your business agent the opportunity to sample champagne and lap dances in the VIP rooms of Vegas? Well, via Crooks and Liars, here's a damn good reason: Ask a Lawyer. Too often we sit back and bitch about how "they" do nothing for us. Well check out your union's website and I think you'll be surprised. Take advantage of what they offer.

And support those who support the rights of workers to organize.
